A mirror was brought out for Fatma and Justin.
During the ceremony, the officiant asked them to hold the mirror and share what they saw in its reflection.
Fatma looked into the mirror and said, "I see my best friend, someone who has supported and loved me through the hardest times in my life." Justin replied, "I see the kindest and strongest person I've ever known."
Fatma is a cancer survivor. She had gone through treatment the year prior and surgery only a few months before. There were times they didn’t know if this wedding was ever going to happen.
For me, this image captures their journey. Fatma and Justin taught me weddings are more than a celebration. It’s a moment to remember the road you’ve traveled and the journey ahead you will travel together.
It’s a reminder of what really matters.
