Tim Mantoani: Behind Photographs

I first came across this from Vincent Laforet's blog. It's a project by Tim Mantoani called "Behind Photographs". It's a series of portraits of photographers holding a print of the iconic images they had shot. Tim has been able to take portraits of very reputable photographers, like Vincent Laforet, Steve McCurry, and James Nachtwey to name a few.

Each photographer looks comfortable in front of a camera, which is a feat in itself since photographs are the most awkward to shoot. Their faces convey a sense of pride in their work as they hold it up to the camera. Being that each print is 20"x24" polaroid print, these larger than life prints really convey something unique about photography and the people who have shaped it.
