Justine & Steven
Every Friday a group of friends went over to Justine and Steven’s place. Steven would cook and Justine would hose. They would all sit around the table and have conversations about life and love. They started to do this every month, then every week, and eventually throughout the weekend. Week by week they knitted a blanket of friendship that kept them warm as they lived the harsh New Yorker life.
When I asked Justine what she envisioned for her wedding, all she wanted was to recreate those weekend nights with her friends, and to show everyone how much she loved Steven. They brought in haiku writers who wrote poems for people on the spot. The space was lit with string lights that brought a warmth and intimacy to the venue. More than a wedding the two of them brought a bit of their living room to that venue and made everyone feel at home.
